MIDWEST WOMEN’S RETREAT 2020
Missions | at home and abroad
April 3-4, 2020
Hosted By Sterling RP Church
Sterling, Kansas
The 103rd annual Midwest Women’s Retreat 2020 is approaching quickly! Sterling RP Church as well as many others are rapidly preparing for the coming Women’s Retreat on April 3rd to April 4th. We look forward to learning better about the missions the Lord is working in at home and abroad as well as what we can do from the pew. For we are all called to live out the gospel, no matter what city the Lord has us in.
SPEAKERS
Our speakers this year include: LB on Global Missions (especially those to the Middle East), Maria Rockhill on the Home Mission field, and Nicole Bachman on our mission field at home in our local congregations. Please pray for them as they prepare to equip us to better serve one another in Christ!
REGISTRATION
You can register at this link: Midwest Women’s Retreat 2020 (thanks to Matt Filbert for his assistance again this year!). If you are unable to register online or have questions, please contact Betty Calderwood at [email protected].
Download the flyer for this year’s retreat to distribute and/or display so the ladies in your congregation are aware of the retreat.
We will meet at the Sterling RP Church (421 N. 8th St. Sterling, KS 67579). Registration will begin at noon (lunch not provided), and the official welcome will begin at 1:00 pm. We will finish with lunch on Saturday. Full-time participation cost will be $45, which includes registration, three meals, speaker honorarium, and travel. Housing will be available in Sterling or in a nearby hotel at no cost; if requesting housing you will receive an email from Sterling confirming your housing after you register. Part time registration will be $20 – if you register part time, please indicate which meals you will be participating in so we can have an accurate count. Childcare for ages 2 and under will be provided. Please register all your children attending online. Meal fees for children will not be necessary. We will also be taking up a freewill offering to support RP Missions, so please consider what you or your congregation might be able to give.
As we have traditionally done, we ask that each represented congregation be prepared to share a memorable event, verse, or testimony (limited to about 1 minute, please). Nancy Hemphill has graciously agreed to receive memorials again this year. She’s asked that if you’d like to submit a memorial for anyone who passed between April 1, 2019 and March 1, 2020 in addition to newspaper obituaries, you include a favorite Bible passage, favorite Psalm, hobbies, activities and any positions she may have held the church either in an email at [email protected] by March 15 , 2020.
